Wielowarstwowe osłony balistyczne na morskie i lądowe konstrukcje środków transportu bojowego

Armox500, okrętowego stopu aluminium i stali kadłubowej.
MULTILAYER BALLISTIC SHIELDS FOR MARINE AND LAND MEANS OF MILITARY TRANSPORT
The paper presents the results of investigation on a ballistic resistance of Armox500 steel, aluminum alloy for shipbuilding and ship hull steel. Armox500 steel is utilized in the ballistic shields for means of military transport (land transport of type T and marine one of type S). Accordingly, the materials mentioned above were subjected to shooting with a bullet of the caliber 7,62 mm using a ballistic pendulum. Monolithic (single layer) and divided (double layer) materials of the same total thickness were in the form of disks having diameter equal 50 mm. The ŁPS bullet was used for testing the naval materials whereas the B was applied for Armox500.
It was found that the double layer ship hull steel exhibited worse ballistic resistance than the single layer sample of the same thickness. The opposite situation was discovered for aluminum alloy - dividing it into layers one obtains superior ballistic resistance.
Monolithic Armox500 steel of 7 mm thickness does not undergo perforation upon an impact of 7,62 mm B bullet. Similarly Al2O ceramic material of 8 mm thickness exhibits effective protection against 7,62 mm ŁPS bullet. Dividing Armox500 decreases its ballistic resistance. (...)
