Uncertainty of car motion reconstruction

Abstract: One of the basic tasks of the accident reconstruction is to define values of parameters of participants of the accident before its actual occurrence. The assessment of correct behaviours is made and the court decides whether the accident participants are guilty or innocent. Therefore, the credibility of specific values is essential. The use of so-called accident recorders - EDR/ADR type of devices, as an alternative compared to classical methods for accidents reconstruction - has become more common over the past years. The paper includes basic notions related to his type of devices, describes potential sources of uncertainty of the car motion reconstruction results obtained on the basis of their records. The examples presented confirm their usefulness, however, they also indicate possible significant errors in the motion parameters assessment if simplified devices are used (where vehicle body lean movements in motion are not analysed).

Optimal control for a plants consisting of two masses and connected with a non-linear spring

Problem of optimal system controlling a motion of the plant consisting of twomasses connected with a non-linear spring is considered in the paper. For example such plants can be motorcars with trailer or dumb barge pulling by ship. The irregular motion of elements of such plants influences negative on consume energy. In addition, because of safety, the speed of motion should be limited.

Application of corporate metrics method to measure risk in logistics

Two important and significant rates are used earnings and cash flow. The basis of Corporate Metrics realization is a process based on simulation, in which huge amount of various different scenarios are obtained and which facilitate to generate future financial results. Corporate Metrics enables to describe future financial results determination and consecutively to determine different levels of risk.

Implementation of generalized viscoelastic material model in abaqus code

An accurate description of behavior of bituminous mixes is necessary to adequately predict and evaluate the time dependent characteristics and the evolution of pavement distress. The generalized Maxwell model, currently considered to be one of the most suitable to characterize mechanical behavior of viscoelastic materials and widely used in many commercial FEM codes, is presented. A Prony series expansion implemented in ABAQUS code, is used to express the material’s behavior. The theoretical background of the model is briefly discussed. Finally, the model was efficiently used for numerical simulation of stress relaxation experiment.

Zmiany parametrów napięcia zasilającego stalownię podczas wytopu w piecu łukowym

Przedstawiono zarejestrowane przebiegi parametrów napięcia zasilającego w sieci zasilającej stalownię, podczas jednego z wytopów prowadzonych w piecu łukowym. Przeanalizowano wpływ warunków zasilania stalowni na wielkość zaburzeń powodowanych przez pracujący piec, jak również określono stopień wzrostu zaburzeń przy dołączaniu kolejnych urządzeń łukowych.

Wprowadzenie systemu RIS czyli zharmonizowanych usług informacji rzecznej zmierza-

jące do zwiększenia wydajności transportu wodnego śródlądowego wymaga zastosowania skutecznych technologii zarządzania ruchem statków. Wykorzystanie rozwiniętych technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych, systemów łączności, przetwarzania i transmisji danych oraz ich archiwizowania musi być skuteczne, zatem oparte na prostych systemach. Wskazanym byłoby wykorzystanie już istniejących i sprawdzonych w działaniu, powszechnie stosowanych metod i systemów co zapewniłoby niezawodność proponowanych rozwiązań.
